TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOPS
April 2012 Workshop at Hanyang University
My most recent workshop was in April 2012, for our department's mid-semester meeting.
It was such a busy time! I had a full schedule - with 5 classes and 4 preps - but somehow still managed to find time to put together both the workshop and a website that would allow participants to review and build on what they had learned in the workshop.
The site includes 16 video tutorials that I produced so colleagues could easily get started using the software they saw demonstrated at the workshop: three inexpensive and easy to use applications for generating text and capturing scrolling screenshots and videos.

Previous Workshops in Canada
As an educational consultant in Canada, I conducted workshops all across the country and demonstrated the benefits of numerous literacy and special education technologies. Many of them perfectly fit the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, which is why I built the website UDLResources.
One of my favorite UDL resources is a portable keyboard called Fusion. It features text to speech (which is ideal for people who are non-verbal) plus many other excellent benefits for learning disabled folks.
Another excellent resource was a reading program from a company called MindPlay. My Reading Coach achieves excellent results with self-paced lessons on phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, grammar, and meaning.
